What is Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG)?
Versatility
Liquid petroleum gas or LPG is an efficient, cost-effective, and versatile fuel source. It can be used for industrial applications (e.g., forklift, food processing, metalworking), as automotive transport fuel (known more commonly as autogas), for commercial or household cooking, or for home heating.
Efficiency
LPG burns relatively cleanly with no soot and few sulfur emissions and can be up to 5x more efficient than traditional fuel sources such as wood or paraffin. Using LPG on your stovetop allows you to adjust the flame, maintain even temperature, and avoid smoke. LPG emits 50% less CO2 than coal and 59% less than wood.
Safety
LPG is a colourless, odourless gas which transforms into liquid when exposed to low temperatures or high pressure and is created when natural gas liquids are processed or when crude oil is refined. It is a completely safe alternative to other forms of fuel when stored and used correctly.
